Stroudy and Malcolm once again welcomed the boys to Canterbury Brewery, where there was a good turn out from New Boys and Old Coves alike. Even Chops and Fletch managed a leave pass from the wife.
Matty tried to show us all a few coin tricks, but ended up singing a song instead of which Stroudy and the old folks who were visiting from wherever the hell they were from thought was quite amusing, if a little bit risque.
Hinge decided to induce vomitus but decided to

keep it a secret. :Luckily it was spotted before it started to smell, or eat into the lino. A good time, I think, was had by all.

I think finally the CRFU have got it right with like minded and like skilled teams in a propper competition from the start of the season. We seem to have gotten competition to push us and make us play to our abilities. After the hard fought slog last week, all the lessons were put into practice against a team who weren't quite up to standard for the type of game we played.
Was lovely to watch the return of some Old Coves and New Boys getting

in there and the atmosphere for once at the clubrooms was boisterous instead of a bit limp and flat.
Watch a video of Howie storming with the ball. youtube it.

Training this week is at the Brewery so be prepared for a big one.

Swede, as usual, has arranged another fabulous Brewery Evening with Stroudy for Thursday the 29th May at the Canterbury Lounge in the Canterbury Brewery on St Asaph Street.

You all know the drill, be there at 7-00pm promptly as the gates will be locked five minutes past the hour.
Be prepared to quaff a few ales and tell a few lies. All the usual stuff.

A wee trip to the seaside was just what the doctor ordered on a beautiful fine late autumn afternoon. The Sumner boys, however, decided that we couldn't build a sandcastle on their patch, and got a ref to argue the point.
I wouldn't want the ref we had today to be signalling at an intersection when the traffic lights aren't operating. Confusion would reign. Never mind. Voluneers don't have to be perfect, just enthusiastic.
Unit and Lars will undoubtedly have some words of wisdom to impart to the boys at training on Thursday. Maybe a lesson on how to blow over at a ruck, or when to kick deep or some other trick they have up their sleeve to try and halt this mini losing streak before it before habit.

Coming off a good win last week, we found ourselves with a huge target on our back which the Old Enemy were keen to hit full on in the middle. So our attitude towards the game was of vital importance. So I'm not sure quite what happened, but things didn't go well.

The visiting Argentine referee didn't help but as Frankie said, we don't need a ref on our side to win, we just need to play to our abilities. Unfortunately, we didn't and only

just managed to scrape a draw.
Although if you ask Poodle, he'll say he won the game for us, but let's not try and second guess what goes on in a refs mind.
