WHY IS THE CLUB LOGO BIGGER THAN OURS?

After ignoring the dictates of the CRFU, we paraded our new playing jerseys to the watching world. And we looked rather like Merivale-Papanui used to look like. But that's what happens when someone from Otago designs your playing strip. Thank you Lars for the effort. We appreciate it.

Belfast wanted to bring it on, and they did, bending Uli's finger and doing the same to Lachie. Worthwhile replacements were on hand then and throughout the match as tactical replacements.
We put the pressure on early with a quick try, conversion and penalty but held on while drifting into complacency. The forwards were forwardy and the backs skittery, but we needed to up the pressure if we wanted to take the second half and the game.
While we never played badly, we let Belfast scrape points to draw level or never be more than a try behind.
It took the last three minutes to cement the win in this keep our finals chance alive game.
For me, highlights of the game were naturally the five tries, but eually so, the quiet resolve of the players on the sideline waiting to come on, including those four Keiths who didn't get their boots dirty.
Play or not, every Keith is an important member of the squad and we thank you for being there.

Back at the clubrooms,

beerr was flowing. Literally over the table and onto the floor when Dirk took it upon himself to teach New Boys to no-hands scull in the traditional manner. Webby also brought out some Lau Lau specials which ended badly for some New Boys but made champions of others. Who knew Dagan could drink?
