THE ONE WHERE THE COACHES HAVE BETTER INJURIES THAN THE PLAYERS
Everyone just calm the fuck down. It's not as if we got our arse rogered by a better team and all went home after the game in a huff and didn't go to the clubrooms to commiserate with our team mates or anything. You know, like Keiths do. Ahh well, maybe next week.
Poacher and Chief have both put their bodies on the line for the lads and so have a few others in the team (except the ginger malingerer) and that caused a few holes in the lineup. Thankfully we've had the use of some D2 and Colts as reserves, but today we were lucky to have some skilled New Boys making appearances.
A big and hearty thanks to Trevor, Marcus, Aiden, Matt, Josh and Alex.
To the remainder of the team, and those who showed up even while injured, also a big and hearty thank you. You were brilliant. To the three different halfbacks we had, two of you seemed to know what you were doing. To the multitude of different wingers, also most of you knew what to do. It was especially good to see a New Boy winger scoring on debut.
Big Dick way out at full back played his best game of the season so far. He was a fucking legend in the making. Big Ross made a sensible decision and gave up his starting place when he realised his body wasn't up to it which gave opportunity for yet another New Boy (Marcus) to show his skill.
The forwards were more settled than the backs, even when replacements came on, but it was a bit obvious that some forwards need to work a bit on their aerobic stamina a bit more.
While the scoreline of 7 tries against 1 seems a bit of a whitewash, no losing game is ever that easy to describe. So I wont try except to say we played some good rugby, but Sydenham played some better rugby.
Thanks to Webby, Poacher, Chief, Steve, Kev, Bruce, Col, Phil, Cormac, Rich and Me for turning up to the club with Liam and friends to drink out of a shoe, sing a shitload of songs and power through 56 bottles of speights. Thanks also to Big Rich who regaled us with tales of old and also thanks to the non male company who enlivened up our evening.
As a wise man once said "Vous êtes tous une bande de cons."
